Preparation time : 15 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cup of black beans drained and rinsed
  • 2 tsp of cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup of quick oats
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 cup of Canadian Heritage Organic maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup of coconut oil
  • 2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup of chocolate chips or carob chips
INSTRCUTION

Preheat oven to 350 F.   Combine all ingredients except chocolate chips in a food processor and blend until very smooth.  Stir in the chocolate chips and pour into a greased 8 x 8 baking pan.

Optional:  Sprinkle extra chocolate chips over the top.   Cook brownies for 15-18 minutes and let cool before cutting into squares.
